Why your business should be online...

An article in The Irish Times today states that 71% of SMEs say they have gained additional business by having an online presence. So out of the 800 small and medium sized firms surveyed by ISME a whopping 568 say that there business (and I am presuming sales) have improved from having a website.

Here are some other interesting stats from the article: 

  •  83% of Irish Small and medium sized businesses have their own webiste
  • 28% are selling online 
  • About 25% have embraced Social Media with most of those businesses using Facebook. 

Its very interesting to note that the main reasons for business NOT selling online is the availability, standard and cost of broadband and lack of knowledge within individual companies.

Website Translation Grant - Get €975 towards cost of translating your Website

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Enterprise Board have a wonderful grant available to part-fund the cost of translating your website into 5 languages (namely Spanish, French, Polish, Chinese and Russian). 

 The €975 covers 75% of the cost of translating a maximum of 1500 words of English test into the 5 languages for publicly-funded organisatoins and private sector micro-enterprises (maz 10 employees based in Dun Laoghaire -Rathdown County.
